Job summary

Galliford Try Inverness is seeking a Sub Agent to join our Environment team on Scottish Water projects in the North of Scotland. Ideally based in or around Inverness, you will travel across multiple sites in the region and help deliver safe, compliant projects.

You will manage programmes, supervise site teams and supply chains, maintain records and RAMS, and report progress to the Project Manager. A construction qualification, SMSTS, CSCS card, and water-industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in construction or allied discipline.
  • SMSTS certification and CSCS card.
  • Experience in water industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office and site reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the programme and supervise delivery.
  • Ensure health, safety, environment and quality compliance.
  • Keep site diaries and records up to date.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Oversee a section of works and supervise site team and supply chain.
  • Report progress to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure RAMS, permit to work, inductions and safety briefings.
  • Carry out inspections and audits; maintain QA file.

SUB AGENT – ENVIRONMENT
Inverness

An opportunity has arisen for a Sub Agentto join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. Working on Scottish Water construction projects in the North of Scotland you will Ideally be based in or around the Inverness area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:

In the role of Sub Agent, your key responsibilities will be:

  • General Site Managementincluding producing and managing the programme and supervising the successful delivery of it
  • Ensuring day to day compliance of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality, in line with company procedures and legal obligations
  • Ensuring that site diaries and all other records are kept up to date
  • Monthly and weekly reporting
  • Maintaining key relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors
  • Day to day management of a section of works including the supervision & monitoring of the site team & supply chain
  • Progress and performance reporting to the Project Manager
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions and safety briefings are correctly carried out
  • Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly inspections are carried out and that all audits and reports are produced
  • Ensure that the QA file is produced and maintained
About You:

To be successful in the role of Sub Agent, we’d like you to have the following experience and qualifications.

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) or CITB (Construction Industry Training Body) 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)),
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water (ideally Clean) industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Dedicated team player but also able to work as an individual
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate time management to comply with deadlines
  • Able to work in a busy environment under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face)
  • Possess a “can do” attitude and provide to support to other members of the team as required
