ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Work with the Group Style and Interiors Director to originate editorial stories for House Beautiful.As much as possible, all ideas should be 360 planned for multi-channel publishing and repurposing. Content should drive reach and engagement of the brand’s target audience, balancing editorial excellence with brand and commercial priorities.
  • Attend all planning, scheduling and production meetings with, or on behalf of, the Group Style and Interiors Director and work closely with the HB Editor, Deputy Editor and Daily Editorfrom concept to final sign-off on all content production.
  • Ensure that all content produced for print, websites, apps, newsletters, social has a consistent tone and that wherever possible content is published across channels, thereby avoiding duplication of stories in digital and print.
  • Conceptualise and set up editorial shoots, under the direction of the Group Style and Interiors Director. Take responsibility for creating visual assets for print and digital channels, includingvideo franchises.
  • Support the Group Style and Interiors Director to conceptualise and set up editorial shoots, creating visual assets for print and digital channels, includingvideo franchises.
  • Curate visual assets and write the stories that don’t require shoots.
  • Maximise all opportunities for sourcing low-cost content including book extracts, PR brand stories and features from the Hearst archives.
  • Always have a thorough understanding of licensing partner relationships and product development. Work with key stakeholders in the Hearst Homes hub and licensing team, ensuring editorial print and digital content supports all partner requirements. Support in creating bespoke shoots and content as and when necessary.
  • Lean into a content calendar to maintain an overview of cross-platform content.
  • Lean in to using analytics tools where necessary, and data to adjust, mould and accelerate House Beautiful’s content strategy.
  • Be up to speed with all homes and interiors trends that can drive editorial content, support commercial product development, brand growth and audience development.
  • Manage budgets and schedules to ensure that content is always delivered on time and on budget.
  • To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.
  • You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.

  • Outward looking, aware of the latest trends that could help the brand future proof and shape our own brands in the current market.
  • A proven track record of excellent idea generation, pitching and writing.Exceptional creative and editing skills, with the ability to translate into high-quality editorial.
  • A strong visual eye with a good understanding of brand audience.
  • A proven track record of working on magazine brands at a senior level. The ability to multi-task, remaining calm and professional under pressure.
  • An excellent team player with proven collaboration skills.
  • Willing to take direction and support the Style & Interiors Director when needed, adjusting their workloads and priorities accordingly in this fast paced environment
  • A proven track record of working with partners and representing brands at external meetings with unwavering professionalism.
