Job summary

Buckinghamshire New University is seeking a Study Engagement and Advice Manager in High Wycombe to lead a team delivering academic skills support, coaching and self-service resources. The role aims to improve retention, progression and student success across campuses.

You will work with colleagues across the University to ensure services are proactive, accessible and aligned with institutional priorities, including evening/weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience delivering inclusive student support and improving engagement.
• Ability to design and adapt resources and workshops for diverse learners.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to student success.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a HE setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Library Engagement and Colleges to align services with priorities.
• Oversee inclusive services to promote independent learning and confidence, including workshops and online materials.
• Ensure the service operates coherently across campus needs and stakeholder groups.
• Lead the academic coaching framework to support at-risk students.
• Use data and feedback to evaluate impact and drive improvements to the student experience.
• Manage the team with a culture of continuous improvement and agile change.
