STUDIO TECHNICIAN
Permanent, part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year)
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Starting Salary: £21,738.06 (£25,389 FTE). Progression is on an annual increment scale to £22,700.43 (£26,513 FTE) per annum
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated Studio Technician to support the Film and Media Department. The post holder will work closely with the teachers and Film and Media Technician to provide support, particularly relating to the operation of Castlefield Studios.
The role will include overseeing the effective, efficient and safe use of Castlefield Studios, ensuring it is maintained to a high standard. The post holder will prepare students to use the studio space and provide supervision and technical support, as well as providing training sessions for staff and students in the practical aspects of Film and Media. The post is student-facing and applicants must be confident working with young people. A high level of practical and organisational skills is essential.
The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis (85.62%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only, from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break). The hours may be adjusted each academic year to ensure coverage during the College Day.
Our ideal person will have experience in setting up film shoots, editing footage, and maintaining audio-visual equipment. Previous experience of using professional packages such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere, Photoshop, and Audition) is essential.
