Purpose of role

Williams Lea seeks a skilled, highly motivated Studio Manager where they will have overall responsibility for the creative production and output of our Creative Services studio based in the Onshore Delivery Centre in Leeds. Williams Lea is a global Marketing and Communications supply chain services company.

Williams Lea builds client solutions that are on-site, off-site and offshore. Employees provide services ranging from digital and document workflow management, through customer communications management, to creative production.

Key responsibilities

• The role will oversee the entire creative production output for a Creative Services studio based offsite, operating from within the Clients IT environment
• To ensure delivery of high-quality creative production material from the Creative Services studio, matching and surpassing client briefs
• To lead our Creative Services team to work together to provide a seamless service to our clients
• To bring creativity and innovation to the Creative Services team
• Deliver industry insight and market trends to drive innovation
• The role will report into the Global Creative Director, who has overall accountability for delivery of all services provided to this client.
• To build strong client relationships with key stakeholders and clients, winning work, key projects and large campaigns to help grow the scope of the team and the studio
• Identify and develop solutions which meet client requirements, work within the client brand guidelines and are accessible for the intended audience
• Hands on management of complex jobs, pre-empting issues, coordinating work and production, including print and delivery
• Ensure that message quality, format, and content meet the brief and are consistent with firm-wide communication guidelines
• Guide and advise members of the team in the design and use of template material, providing training where necessary
• Responsible for the service operation and process management, including QC review
• Ensuring the studio has all the requirements and in working order
• Monitor progress of activities to ensure adherence to deadlines, quality standards, and client brand guidelines
• Management of complex projects - may have multiple assets or complex deliverables
• Project estimations - time and budget
• Briefing of designers and vendors
• Review of assets supplied by clients

Personal attributes

• Experienced leading a team of designers and takes a collaborative, proactive approach to handling issues and supporting clients
• In depth knowledge and understanding of design and production across printed and digital disciplines
• Strong communication skills, a professional manner and someone willing to proactively support and engage with their surrounding colleagues and clients
• Highly organised managing yours and others workloads, managing multiple projects effectively with a polite confident manner
• Motivational and enthusiastic
• Excellent communication skills, articulate, personable and confident
• Enjoys working with and presenting to clients with excellent client relationship and management skills
• Calm and mature personality with the ability to work both on own initiative and in a team environment, often under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Strong level of technical and integrated creative design knowledge
