Job summary

Persephonica is seeking a hands-on technical lead to own the London studio, overseeing video across a varied slate and on-location shoots. You’ll rig multi-camera setups, manage lighting and audio, and troubleshoot complex workflows to keep production moving smoothly.

You’ll travel for shoots, set up remote recording kits, and deliver end-to-end edits for pilots and formats while mentoring junior crew in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.

Qualifications

• This role requires at least three years of experience in podcast, broadcast, YouTube or digital video production, with hands-on technical delivery and post.
• Deep expertise with professional camera, lighting and audio setups (Canon and Sony preferred).
• Strong ability to rig, operate, monitor and troubleshoot multi-camera studio productions.
• Experience designing and running remote recording workflows (OBS and Riverside), with resilience under pressure.
• Outside broadcast experience and willingness to travel for shoots.

Persephonica is looking for someone to take ownership of its London studio and act as technical lead for video across a slate that includes Miss Me? with Miquita Oliver and Jordan Stephens, Dua Lipa’s Book Club, Dig It with Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball, and Political Currency.

One week you're rigging the studio for a multi-camera record; the next you're at the British Museum for an outside broadcast, or shooting a pilot and cutting the sizzle yourself.

Who they're looking for

This is a technical role first. Persephonica wants someone who can be handed a camera and know immediately which lens to reach for, how to frame it and how to light it – who can build a studio from scratch and troubleshoot under pressure without needing to elevate. If you edit video but have never rigged a room, this isn't the role for you.

Beyond the kit, they want a doer with initiative and a genuine view on the output. The sort of person who'll say the intro is too long, or that the first sixty seconds needs something funny in it, or explain why a video isn't performing on YouTube. Think of the technical staff at the best video-first creator studios: as interested in what comes out of the room as in whether the cameras rolled.

About you

• At least three years across podcast, broadcast, YouTube or digital video production, owning both technical delivery and post
• Deep, demonstrable expertise with professional camera, lighting and audio setups – Canon and Sony preferred
• Confident rigging, operating, monitoring and troubleshooting multi-camera studio productions
• Extensive experience designing and running remote recording workflows, including OBS and Riverside, with a feel for technical resilience and failure recovery
• Outside broadcast experience, and comfortable working away from a fixed base
• A strong editor in Premiere Pro, with After Effects where relevant. Descript useful
• A real understanding of what makes long-form video work on YouTube and adjacent platforms
• Experience working with high-profile talent and big-name guests
• Happy to support and develop less experienced members of the team
• Highly organised, calm under pressure, and at home in a fast-moving environment with high standards

Details

Location: London – Hoxton studio, in the office most days. Occasional travel to Sheffield

Contract: Full-time, permanent, PAYE
