Job Description:

Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours) – Permanent

Location: The University of Huddersfield - London Campus

Salary: up to £32,000 per annum

We are seeking a member of the Centre’s Student Experience Team responsible for student wellbeing, welfare, and support for their progression needs.

The role involves implementing Study Group’s policies and procedures to support staff and students, reporting to the Student Experience Leader, and working within a matrix structure to collaborate with various teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing student welfare and safeguarding, including administration and record-keeping.
  2. Managing student welfare concerns and acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
  3. Monitoring student whereabouts and creating support plans.
  4. Organising wellbeing activities and developing community skills.
  5. Escalating concerns appropriately and working with teams to ensure inclusive practices.
  6. Maintaining the Wellbeing and Welfare section on the online Virtual Reception.
  7. Building relationships with university partners.
  8. Contributing to the development and communication of the Student Experience and Wellbeing Strategy.
  9. Raising awareness of safeguarding practices.
  10. Supporting engagement and progression, including personal tutoring and academic support.
  11. Monitoring academic engagement, attendance, and performance, and referring students for additional support.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, safeguarding training, and experience in an educational setting. The candidate should have a commitment to developing the Student Experience and working within a regulated environment.
