Job summary

Arden University is looking for a Wellbeing Adviser to support UK students with mental health, wellbeing and accessibility needs, managing a personal caseload and advising on reasonable adjustments and support.

You will work with Disability & Accessibility, Mental Health & Wellbeing Advisers, and Team Leaders to deliver inclusive, student-centred services, including support for breaks in learning and those covered by the Pregnancy, Adoption and Family Leave policy, across our Birmingham campus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Disability Studies, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across departments.
• Experience in student support, mental health, or disability services in higher education.
• Strong interpersonal, crisis management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Support equitable access to education; provide advice on reasonable adjustments and mental health support while managing a personal caseload.
• Collaborate with Disability & Accessibility, Mental Health & Wellbeing Advisers, and Team Leaders to deliver inclusive, student-centred support and training.
• Support students taking or returning from a break in learning, including Pregnancy/Adoption/Family Leave cases, aligning with best practice.
