About the role: Student Welfare Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Student Welfare Coordinator to join our Lifeskills team based at our Blackbird Leys College campus.

The purpose of the role is to help ensure retention and achievement of students receiving Additional Learning Support within Lifeskills Faculty. This includes our 16-19 programme, monitoring pastoral needs and working with the team to ensure best practice and support the transition into our programmes for internal and external learners.

Collaboration is key within this role both within the Lifeskills faculty and with wider College Group services. Helping to ensure that students with learning support (High Needs) and other care needs are adequately provided for by supporting the Lifeskills faculty team. You will work closely with a dedicated team of people committed to making a difference to High Needs learners.

This position is part-time, fixed-term until July 2026 - 18.5 hours per week, term time only (0.43 FTE).

What do you need to be successful as a Student Welfare Coordinator at Activate Learning?

A minimum GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above is essential, along with an understanding of the need for a student-centred approach and ability to offer varying support strategies to cover diverse learning needs.

A proven track record of providing a student-centred approach and the ability to offer varying support strategies to cover a diverse range of learning needs. You will have excellent understanding/experience working with a range of learners including: MLD, PMLD and SEMH.

You will also be able to develop creative and innovative strategies to deal effectively with learners with a range of needs.
