Job description
Overview

We are looking for a new SVN to join our current team! An opportunity for a Student Veterinary Nurse position has become available. This vacancy is open to candidates who are wishing to start their nursing career as well as first- and second-year students who have already started their training.

Responsibilities

This position would offer the opportunity for hands-on experience in all aspects of veterinary nursing to include animal husbandry, radiography, anaesthesia, client care and laboratory work under supervision. You will be supported by our team of vets, nurses and support staff.

Qualifications / Requirements

Training at college takes place over 30-36 months. To meet the entry requirements of college a minimum of 5 GCSEs (grade A*-C or 9-4) including English Language, Maths and Science is required. We are looking for a proactive candidate who is enthusiastic to begin their career in veterinary nursing. The ideal candidate would enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be ready to get involved! Great timekeeping and communication skills are valued attributes.

About the Practice

We are part of a large practice with a busy caseload. We see a variety of small animal patients including exotics. We have a range of up-to-date equipment including, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, laparoscopic and endoscopic equipment.

Details

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week over 5 days, with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. You will be required to attend college one day a week. The training centre we are affiliated with is the College of Animal Welfare situated in North London.
