Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care in Newbury and its branches is seeking a Student Veterinary Nurse to develop clinical and non-clinical skills while working toward registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You will support patient care under the supervision of Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs, gaining hands-on experience across nursing duties and progressing through the training programme with mentoring and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Grade 4-9 / A-C) in Maths, English and Science are required.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for animal care and welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care under guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses.
• Gain hands-on experience across nursing duties while progressing through training to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Be an integral part of the practice team supporting day-to-day operations.

Donnington Grove Veterinary Group are a busy Equine Hospital based in Newbury Berkshire. Our main Hospital has RCVS Tier 3 hospital status and is based in Newbury, which is a thriving town in West Berkshire, with many restaurants and only a 45-minute train journey to London Paddington. Situated on the edge of the North Wessex Downs AONB, it also provides beautiful local countryside for long walks with our canine friends. The Branches at Tadley and Thatcham are both located within a short distance of Newbury and are fully equipped for surgical procedures and digital diagnostic imaging.

How You'll Make a Difference

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will be supported and encouraged to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills while working towards qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You’ll be an integral part of the practice team, supporting patient care under the guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of nursing duties while progressing through your training programme and developing confidence in your day-to-day practice.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position, including twilight and weekend shifts on a rota basis. You’ll work across our three branches - Newbury, Tadley, and Thatcham - gaining diverse experience and skills.
