Job summary

Outwood Academy Riverside is seeking a Learning Manager with school experience and a strong grasp of safeguarding and pupil support. The role requires coordinating behaviour, liaising with families and partner agencies, and using MIS and Praising Stars data to guide interventions.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively with students, staff and parents, work well under pressure, and maintain a supportive approach to vulnerable learners within a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a school environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to relate sympathetically to students and identify safeguarding concerns.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students in assigned year group using MIS and Praising Stars data to identify concerns and intervene.
• Act as first point of contact for behaviour incidents and support the Consequences process.
• Contact parents regarding exclusions and support readmission meetings.
• Coordinate inter-agency liaison meetings (e.g., Children in Need, Team Around the Child).
• Undertake referrals for families and support the Education Welfare Officer with truancy checks.
