Job summary

The Great Western Hospital is inviting applications for enthusiastic student sonographers to join the Ultrasound Department. Candidates will train to perform ultrasound scans and pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound at a designated university, with the directorate sponsoring and supporting the study, including release from clinical duties.

The department values kindness, collaboration and high-quality patient care, with a team of 14 sonographers and close ties with radiologists

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical ultrasound (selection process)
• Willingness to undertake study to Post Graduate Diploma level in Medical Ultrasound at a designated university
• Sponsor support to complete the study by the directorate including release from clinical duties

Responsibilities

• Train to carry out ultrasound scans with academic and clinical training
• Produce clinical reports under supervision of a Sonographer
• Maintain high-quality patient communication and imaging
• Contribute to planning and smooth running of the area in collaboration with staff
