A healthcare organization in Rochester is looking for NMC registered nurses to join their team and participate in a fully funded training program to become School Nurses. The role involves working with children and families to promote health and well-being. We are looking for an NMC registered nurse who would like to access a fully funded training opportunity (Level 7), to qualify as a registered specialist community public health nurse (School Nurse), commencing January 2026 with the University of Greenwich.

Successful applicants will be sponsored/seconded on a midpoint Band 5 salary for the duration of the programme. Tuition fees are paid by the NHS. Travel expenses will be paid when on business travel only.
The programme comprises 50% theory and 50% practice and runs for 45 weeks per year with holidays at various points throughout the programme. Attendance at university for taught session is usually two days per week between 09:00 and 17:00. You will also be expected to undertake self-directed study when not in university.
We will provide you with a wide range of experiences in a diverse population; giving you the chance to develop the skills and competencies to become a registered school nurse. You will be fully integrated into a friendly, supportive team who work together to ensure you have every opportunity to fulfil the requirements of the programme, including 1:1 support from a Practice Assessor/Supervisor.
Entry Criteria:
Please note: This role is being offered on a fixed-term basis for the duration of the training course. The organisation will fund your course fees; however, if you do not complete the course or choose not to remain with the organisation after successful completion (where a substantive role is available), you may be required to repay all or part of the course fees. Subject to the availability of vacancies, successful completion of the course may lead to an offer of a permanent role as a School Nurse (Band 6) with opportunities to progress your career further.
