Job Description:

Do you have a passion for delivering an exceptional level of customer service? If so, then we have fantastic opportunities available working as customer service professionals for a UK leading educational provider, The Open University.

On behalf of The Open University, Pertemps is actively recruiting for positions within the frontline Student Recruitment and Support teams within a contact centre environment. You will ensure an excellent level of service is provided to prospective and current students by providing key information and helping them make decisions about their learning.

Working hours: Full time (37 hours per week, between 8.00am – 6.30pm Mon to Fri)

Pay rate: £12.62ph

Working pattern: Hybrid working after training. Candidates will work from the office a minimum of 2 days per month after initial training.

Location: Manchester, M22 4UN

Training: A 7-week comprehensive training program will be provided.

Start Date: 2nd & 30th June

Duration: Until 30th September 2025

About the role

The role mainly involves inbound calls, supporting students through their study journey via calls, emails, letters, web-chat, and other communication channels. You will handle multiple systems and databases to maintain student and enquirer details, acting as a first point of contact to ensure accurate information and excellent service.

A full training will be provided, along with ongoing support and development from your team manager and colleagues to build your confidence and knowledge.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide information to enquirers and students about registration, funding, and general inquiries via calls and emails.
  • Transfer calls to specialized teams when necessary for further guidance.
  • Respond to issues using your experience, interpreting policies and procedures.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to student and enquirer requests promptly.
  • Update records using university systems.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure timely and effective activity handling within service levels.
  • Strive to exceed service standards, delivering a positive experience for students and enquirers.
