City St George’s is undertaking a significant programme of work in relation to its student records systems (SRS), with an initial discovery phase to inform decisions about the future programme roadmap. This programme is one of the university’s “IT Big 6” programmes.
The university currently operates two on-premise instances of Tribal’s SITS with limited interoperability and no integration between them.
The role sits within the IT Projects team within Information Technology at the university.
An extension to the initial 12 months FTC may be considered depending on the outcome of the discovery phase and the decisions made by the university as a consequence.
The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing the Student Records Systems (SRS) Programme discovery phase. This includes mobilising the programme, undertaking discovery activities, and developing a full options appraisal in the form of a business case for approval by senior committees.
Dependencies with other key projects and programmes, such as ERP, Curriculum Management System, and Data Warehousing, will need to be effectively managed.
The successful candidate will have previous experience leading student records systems discovery and/or implementation programmes, preferably including direct experience with Tribal’s SITS.
A strong understanding of the current student records system market is required. The Programme Manager should demonstrate experience managing IT Programmes within complex organisations, engaging stakeholders successfully, and ensuring governance controls are implemented and followed.
