Job description

This is a 24-month developmental role supervised by a Registered Nurse (or other registered care professional depending on the setting). The Student Nurse Associate Apprentice (SNAA) will work towards progressing into a Registered Nurse Associate role through successful completion of the apprenticeship programme. The apprentice will develop knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the Nurse Associate role within Lincolnshire Community & Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG), including working in various clinical placements and delivering person-centred care.

Training posts and bases will only be available where vacancies exist and can be accommodated within the ward establishment. All training posts will be identified centrally and approved by the Director of Nursing in advance. Successful candidates may be required to transfer to other wards or departments, which could be in either a community or hospital setting.

Applicants are asked to indicate their preferences for acute, community, and location in their application. While every effort will be made to match these preferences, they cannot be guaranteed due to organisational needs and availability.

To receive delegated duties from the supervising RN and senior colleagues, within their competency level, adhering to the NMC Delegation and Accountability tool (NMC Code 2018), and to perform procedures as outlined in the NMC Standards for Proficiency for Nurse Associate (2018), to meet patient care needs and work within Trust policies and guidelines.

At the end of the apprenticeship, the SNAA will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nurse Associate, working to a nationally recognised code of conduct, with registration required on the Nursing Midwifery Council register (NMC).
