Job summary

Heriot-Watt University invites applications for a casual research assistant to support the TYCHE project on AI opportunities and ownership risks. You will be a key contributor enabling staff to engage with activities across the research program.

You must be a student or hold a degree in a relevant discipline, and submit a CV and cover letter detailing your interests and skills. Remote work is available, with a casual contract and a pay rate of £19.51 per hour (Grade 6/26), up to 7 hours per week

Qualifications

• Be a student or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a discipline relevant to the project (computer science, infrastructure, social science, defence studies, crisis management).
• Provide a CV and a cover letter stating your interests in the topics of the project and evidence of requisite skills.
• Indicate in the cover letter the A1-4 activities you would like to be considered for (any number of activity).
• You will be employed on a casual work basis by Heriot-Watt University. If you are already doing casual work for Heriot-Watt University, please indicate it in your cover letter as this might constrain the number of hours you would be eligible to do.
• The work can be done remotely.

• To be considered for the role, you need to be a student or have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a discipline relevant to the project (computer science, infrastructure, social science, defence studies, crisis management).

• Indicate in the cover letter the A1-4 activities you would like to be considered for (any number of activity).

WFH

Casual work contract with Heriot-Watt University £19.51/hour (Grade 6/26) with a maximum of 7 hours/week over 12 weeks (with 1-2 weeks gap between contracts). The duration will depend on the activities you will be involved in (typically 12 days over 3 months).
