Job summary

Bushey Meads School is seeking a Healthcare Officer to oversee the medical department and support students’ health and wellbeing within a dedicated team. You will contribute to personal care and safety for pupils with varying needs, while maintaining a calm and professional presence on site.

This role requires effective communication with students, families, staff and healthcare professionals, along with safeguarding awareness and a patient, empathetic approach.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, healthcare or similar setting.
• Caring and approachable individual committed to supporting students’ health, wellbeing and personal care.
• Understanding of SEND and treating students with patience, dignity and respect.
• Good safeguarding understanding and ability to raise concerns about student welfare.
• Effective communication with students, families, staff and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to stay calm and responsive when supporting unwell or distressed students.
• Team player with pastoral, safeguarding, SEND and wider support teams.
