Casual Student Finance Assistant, 37 hpw (28th July - 30 October 2025)
To undertake all administrative duties associated with student bursaries.
Principle Accountabilities
- To process applications, assess eligibility, make payments, and maintain records of student payments from the 16 – 19 Bursary Fund, Vulnerable Bursary, 19+ Learner Support Fund, and the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary.
- To keep up to date with government guidance, policies, and procedures relating to student finance schemes.
- To provide effective administrative support for all student finance schemes available through the college, ensuring students receive timely and appropriate financial support.
- To provide information to students, prospective students, parents, and staff about the financial support available through college schemes and national schemes such as Care to Learn, 24+ Advanced Learning Loans Bursary, and Vulnerable Bursary.
- To staff student finance applications for financial support, issue travel passes, discuss childcare support, and handle student enquiries regarding payments or awards.
- To be a key contact for individual students, often dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Support the Student Support Team in assisting students with urgent financial support needs.
- To develop and maintain systems for filing and storing documentation and paperwork.
- To liaise with curriculum staff regarding kits, equipment, attendance, and support with financial schemes.
- To comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
- To perform any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
