Job summary

Derby College Group (DCG) is recruiting a Student Engagement Mentor for the Student Experience and Pastoral Support team at Roundhouse Campus. You will mentor students facing social, emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them re-engage with education and build resilience.

With one-to-one mentoring and targeted interventions, you will raise aspirations, foster positive learning behaviours and support students to develop essential skills for education and personal growth.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with complex social, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience responding to behavioural incidents and following safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring to students facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
• Deliver targeted interventions to raise aspirations and promote positive learning behaviours.
• Maintain a safe, calm learning environment using effective behaviour management strategies.
• Support safeguarding procedures and work within college policies.
