Job summary

South Staffordshire College is seeking a Student Engagement Officer to lead enrichment activities across campuses. You will coordinate programmes, competitions, events and learner leadership initiatives, ensuring learners have a strong voice and opportunities to influence their college experience.

You will work directly with learners to gather feedback, support their personal development and contribute to continuous improvement across the student experience.

Qualifications

• Experience within education, youth work, coaching, enrichment or community engagement.
• Experience in pastoral support or other learner-focused environments preferred.
• Commitment to helping every learner achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver enrichment programmes, competitions, events and learner leadership initiatives.
• Manage learner representative activities and Duke of Edinburgh opportunities.
• Work with learners to ensure their voices are heard using feedback and participation data.
• Contribute to shaping college improvements and celebrate learner achievements.
• Support safeguarding and safeguarding training as part of induction and CPD.

Job description

The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, including barred list information, as this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Safeguarding training is mandatory for all employees and will form part of your induction and ongoing CPD., As a Student Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in creating meaningful opportunities that enrich the student experience.

You will coordinate and deliver a diverse range of activities including enrichment programmes, competitions, events, learner leadership initiatives, learner representative activities and Duke of Edinburgh opportunities. You will work directly with learners to ensure their voices are heard, using feedback and participation data to influence positive change and continuously improve the learner experience.

No two days will be the same. One day you could be supporting student leaders to shape college improvements, the next organising a college-wide event, coordinating enrichment activities or celebrating learner achievements.
