Job description

Student Engagement & Experience Manager

About The Role

This is a unique opportunity to directly shape and enhance the undergraduate student experience in one of the UK’s leading business schools.

A degree from the School of Management offers students more than just academic achievement; we provide comprehensive support across academic, employability, and wellbeing areas to help every student reach their full potential. The Student Experience and Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all undergraduate students feel included, supported, and connected throughout their journey.

As Manager, you will lead a team of Student Experience Officers, providing strategic and operational leadership and direction. You will bring insights from the higher education sector and ensure high levels of expertise in student engagement and support, helping us maintain our reputation for excellence.

It is essential that our ideal candidate has experience from a higher education setting in a role focused on supporting and enhancing the student experience. We value inclusive approaches to student learning and development, and embedding the student voice in all our activities, so expertise in these areas is highly sought.

As the Manager of a busy and dynamic team, you will need to demonstrate confident leadership and interpersonal skills to influence, motivate, and support others. Equally important are high levels of empathy and understanding, ensuring that both students and colleagues feel heard, valued, and supported.

About You

  • You will have a strong understanding of university quality assurance policies and their significance.
  • You will be culturally sensitive, with experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • You will demonstrate excellent working knowledge and application of IT and digital technologies, including the ability to manipulate, analyse, and present data.
  • You will be able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
  • You will effectively organise a busy workload and prioritise tasks to achieve positive outcomes.
  • You will be innovative and creative in your thinking, with a keen interest in developing ideas into initiatives that continually enhance the student experience.
