Student Counsellor/Therapist Required: Glasgow, Scotland

SALARY: £37,999 – £43,878 per year

CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

HOURS: 35 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Counsellor/Therapist to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. The Counselling service currently offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred Counselling, within a focussed short-term intervention framework. The team offers individual support in person and online. The Team’s practice is influenced by the Service’s membership of the BACP.

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver individual therapeutic interventions.
  2. Formulate appropriate therapeutic interventions according to clients’ mental health presentations.
  3. Liaise and build effective relationships with internal and external representatives of other disciplines or agencies.

Qualifications:

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  2. Professional postgraduate qualification in a relevant counselling or psychotherapeutic discipline.
  3. Experience in a similar role in student support in higher education.
  4. Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to mental health and mental health needs.

As these roles involve Regulated work with Adults and/or Children the successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership.
