Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is recruiting an Attendance & Welfare Officer for a secondary school in Wembley, London. The role focuses on improving student attendance, welfare and engagement, with First Aid training being essential.

You will work with students, parents, teachers and pastoral staff to address barriers, monitor attendance patterns and support wellbeing initiatives. This is a permanent, full-time position with term-time elements, start September 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in attendance, pastoral care, welfare, safeguarding, education or a related setting.
• Current First Aid training – essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance, punctuality and absences.
• Follow up unexplained absences with parents and carers.
• Identify students at risk of persistent or severe absence.
• Maintain accurate attendance and welfare records.
• Work with pastoral teams to develop support strategies.
• Meet with students to understand barriers to attendance.
• Communicate with parents and carers about attendance concerns.
• Provide welfare support for students in distress.
• Provide first aid when required in line with procedures.
• Promote a safe, inclusive environment for all students.
