Job summary

Bradford College is seeking an Access & Inclusion Advisor on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) to support students with disabilities, learning difficulties and/or medical conditions across the college.

The role manages a caseload, advising on strategies to assist curriculum staff and ensure effective classroom support, including adults, apprentices and HE students as needed. Equity and inclusion are core values in this role.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths at level 2 or equivalent, and GCSE English at level 2 or equivalent.
• Educated to degree standard and/or holding a disability-related qualification.
• Considerable experience providing learning support to students with disabilities in post-16 education.
• Experience interpreting EHC plans and other evidence to inform support plans.

Responsibilities

• Assesses need and provides recommendations on reasonable adjustments for college staff.
• Offers individual support for students with disabilities or medical conditions, including HE students.
• Supports adults, apprentices or HE students on Study Programmes as appropriate.
• Ensures EHC Plan outcomes are met and consults on proposed new outcomes.
• Provides training to teaching and support staff on supporting additional needs.
• Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate support.

Education

GCSE Maths level 2 or equivalent

GCSE English level 2 or equivalent

Degree or professional equivalent in Disability-related field
