Brief
We are currently looking to recruit a talented lawyer to join the Structured and Project Finance Team in London or Edinburgh, ideally with at least 7 years PQE specializing in this area.
Background
The role is for a finance lawyer within the market-leading Structured and Project Finance Team, part of the Projects Group. The team handles a range of high-value projects including energy and infrastructure development, financing, refinancings, operational support, and M&A. Clients include UK and international banks, renewable energy developers, oil and gas/energy companies, infrastructure funds, private equity, and utilities. The work has an international dimension, involving cross-border transactions and collaboration with other Pinsent Masons offices. This is a transactional role with significant client contact and industry specialization opportunities.
Our Team
The team advises clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors, managing the full lifecycle of financing transactions from initial negotiations to post-closure support. It handles some of the UK’s largest infrastructure and energy projects, supported by a global network for cross-border matters. London team leads are Stephen Tobin and Apicksha Patel; Edinburgh team is led by Gillian Frew. The team collaborates closely with other offices.

- Advised Zenobe Energy on the £235m (plus £400m accordion) financing of a 200MW / 400MWh battery storage project in Scotland, the largest in Europe for such projects.
- Represented NTR in financing 12 onshore wind projects.
- Advised Dalmore Capital as lead legal adviser on operational PFI projects.
- Supported NatWest, AIB, and Sabadell in financing five anaerobic digestion projects.
- Assisted the Port of Aberdeen with a loan from Scottish National Investment Bank.
