Job summary

Rhoads Industries, Inc. located in the Navy Yard in Philadelphia is seeking a skilled welder to prep, lay out, tack, weld, finish, and repair complex fabrications in line with product specs and schedule.

You will perform GMAW and FCAW welding, read drawings, operate cranes, and work with a team to deliver multi‑component fabrications, with opportunities for overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in fabrication industry.
• Experience with GMAW, FCAW and GTAW welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and work packages.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand work packages, drawings, and blueprints.
• Layout, position, align and secure parts & assemblies according to specifications using measuring tools.
• Perform welding using the GMAW welding processes.
• Operate machinery to support fabrication (punching, shearing, cutting, drilling).
• Inspect own work to ensure it meets product specifications and is QA compliant.
• Dispatched to other buildings within the Navy yard and may travel to other job sites.
• Various shifts may be required, including overtime and weekends.
