Sheet Metal Worker (Aviation) - Manchester - 6 month rolling contract (Outside IR35)

Shorterm Group is assisting a global Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul company based in Manchester in recruiting experienced Sheet Metal Workers/Structural Technicians for a 6-month rolling contract. The role involves working on Freighter to Passenger conversions on B777 aircraft.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months (rolling)

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:30 or late shift 12:00-22:30

Rate: £36 per hour Ltd (Outside IR35)

Work: Freighter to passenger conversion on B777 aircraft

Candidates must undertake a trade test prior to starting.

Role Overview:

  • Removal of major aircraft structural sections
  • Conversion of Freighter to passenger aircraft on B777
  • Working to fine tolerances and high standards
  • Upholding high standards of housekeeping
  • Adhering to company and manufacturer procedures
  • Implementing modifications from drawings and procedures

Shift Pattern & Working Hours:

  • Early shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Late shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience working on live aircraft
  • Ideally experience with B777, B737, or A320 aircraft
  • Capable of reading manufacturers' drawings and SRMs
  • Valid UK Driver's License
