Job description

Calibre Search are working alongside a regional multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy in the North East. Built on the shared experience and knowledge of its members of staff, they have a culture of trust and respect is used to allow everyone to develop a work life balance that suits them.

They have grown organically through continued delivery of high technical standard solutions to meet a wide range of client requirements and are looking for an ambitious and talented Structural Technician to assist with this successful approach to engineering consultancy.

In this role you will be involved with working on new build and refurbishment schemes from feasibility through detailed design and construction, across public, private, residential, heritage and environmental sectors. You will be supporting the design team in the production of calculations, technical reports and drawings, liaising with clients, statutory authorities and other consultants throughout the project design and construction process.

Possessing building structures experience working in Revit, you will be comfortable working on a variety of projects including Historic Restoration and the restoration of structures at risk, Care Homes, mass timber frame (CLT and Glulam), bespoke self-build homes, New Build and Extension of Schools and multistorey steel frame jobs. RC experience would be beneficial although not mandatory as the company work on a lot of concrete frame residential projects along with multistorey, commercial and industrial projects.

To succeed in this role you will a relevant Engineering qualification and a good understanding of engineering principals. As well as being familiar with AutoCAD, Revit & Microsoft Office, you will possess excellent written and oral communication skills and be a motivated and enthusiastic member of the team with the drive to learn new skills and knowledge
