Vertical Recruitment are working with an award-winning civil and structural engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for the delivery of complex and specialist projects. Formed in 2007 they have grown to employ seventy engineers, technicians and support staff across the North. Since 2007, they have delivered around 4,000 schemes with a total project value approaching £3.5 billion. They are looking for an ambitious and well-rounded Structural Revit Technician to work in our Manchester office.
The successful candidate will be working with a highly motivated and committed team delivering an exciting range of civil and structural engineering schemes across a broad range of sectors including education, healthcare, industrial & logistics, residential and regeneration.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the company Revit/BIM standards and templates
- Revit project reviewing
- Produce structural engineering 2D and 3D drawings at all stages, including concept, tender and construction
- Produce high-quality Revit models, ensuring that the drawings coordinate with other disciplines
- Prepare building structures drawings with accuracy and integrity
- Work collaboratively within the team to adhere to BIM standards
- Prepare project documentation
- Generate clash reports
- Deliver and manage multiple BIM projects
- Set up and define project models
- Oversee model authoring by others to SMPs and standards
- Office-based work with occasional visits to construction sites
The person
- Analytical, detail-oriented, reliable, enthusiastic and highly motivated
- Confident team player with strong interpersonal and client-facing abilities
- Combines creativity with a technical, hands-on approach to projects and problem-solving
- Strong interest in building design and structure with impeccable attention to detail; expected to provide a portfolio of project drawings at interview
Qualifications, skills and experience
- 3+ years’ industry experience with advanced Revit (including Revit-Navisworks collaboration), AutoCAD, and BIM principles
- Proficient in producing 3D models from Point Cloud data and creating parametric families in Autodesk Revit
- Strong grounding in physics and mathematics with excellent problem-solving and conceptual 3D skills
- Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation and diagrammatic skills, with proven ability to liaise across disciplines
- Effective team player with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
