Job summary

Marshall Davies Ltd. is seeking a Structural Technician in Leeds to produce 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for temporary and permanent works. You will work closely with engineers to develop coordinated design information, ensuring outputs meet BIM standards and project specifications.

The role requires proven consultancy experience, high attention to detail, and familiarity with Tekla Structures. Hybrid working and early Friday finish are offered as part of a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Structural Technician in a consultancy
• Strong AutoCAD and Revit Structures proficiency
• Experience on temporary and/or permanent works
• Attention to detail and good communication
• Familiarity with BIM standards and coordination processes

Job description

Eligibility: Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available. Regular travel to the Leeds office required as part of a hybrid working arrangement.

The Role

• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for temporary and permanent works schemes.
• Typical schemes include façade retention, propping/needling, crane platforms, excavation support, and permanent structural elements.
• Work closely with engineers to develop clear, coordinated design information.
• Assist in the preparation of drawings, models, and technical details in line with project requirements.
• Ensure all outputs comply with company BIM standards and project specifications.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience as a Structural Technician within a consultancy environment.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Structures.
• Experience working on temporary works, permanent works, or both.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience in demolition or complex temporary works schemes.
• Familiarity with BIM standards and coordination processes.
• Exposure to additional software such as Tekla Structures.
