Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an Estimator for Structural Steel in Newport. You will produce accurate estimates from drawings and specs, prepare take-offs and tender submissions, and collaborate with suppliers to secure competitive solutions.

You’ll interpret technical drawings, assess risks, and support value engineering with the commercial and engineering teams. The role offers a permanent, full-time opportunity with a strong pipeline of projects across infrastructure and rail.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within construction or structural steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Confident communication skills with both technical and commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate estimates from structural drawings and project specifications.
• Preparing take-offs, bills of quantities and competitive tender submissions.
• Working with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best commercial solutions.
• Identifying project risks and supporting value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborating with engineering and commercial teams throughout the tender process.
• Helping shape bid strategies that convert enquiries into secured projects.
