Job summary

Murphy is seeking a steel erector to assemble and install structural steel on our sites. You will read drawings, plan sequences with the site manager, and safely rig and lift components using cranes while following all safety rules and hold points.

Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 in steel erecting, CSCS or CITB card, SSSTS/SMSTS, IPAF, and a UK driving licence. Willingness to work away from home is expected.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in steel erecting is required.
• CSCS or other CITB approved card.
• SSSTS mandatory; SMSTS advantageous.
• IPAF certificate required.
• Valid UK driving licence is mandatory.
• Experience of working at heights with fall protection.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs to understand scope.
• Coordinate with the site manager to plan steel erection sequence.
• Safely and efficiently put erectors to work and keep to programme.
• Ensure communications with HSEQ Advisor.
• Rig and lift heavy steel components using cranes or lifting equipment.
• Monitor and adhere to safety procedures and hold points.
