The successful candidate will create 2D and 3D CAD models, contribute to design deliverables, and support projects from concept to installation. Qualifications

  • NC/HNC or equivalent qualification/experience in a related discipline.
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in Naval or Commercial Marine projects.

Responsibilities

  • Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings.
  • Contributing to the entire project and product design cycle.
  • Providing technical support during construction phases.

Skills

Proficiency in CAD systems

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
  • Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
  • Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
  • Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
  • Perform self-verification of work.
  • Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
  • Ensure safety, health, and environmental requirements are implemented.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving the quality standards of outputs.

Qualifications

  • Hold an NC/HNC or equivalent qualification/experience in a related discipline.
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.

Essential skills

  • Proficiency in one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems in both 3D & 2D environments.
  • Ability to work according to Engineering Design Standards.

Desired skills

  • Experience with FORAN.
  • Experience with Windchill.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.

Experience

  • Experience in design processes and procedures, specifically within detail design.
  • Experience working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects, preferably naval shipbuilding projects or major conversion packages.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Piping, or HVAC.
  • Relevant experience from other industries, including Oil & Gas, Process, Manufacturing, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Civil, and Automotive.
