Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
• Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
• Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
• Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
• Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
• Perform self-verification of work.
• Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
• Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
• Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.

Qualifications

• The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification / experience in relatable discipline subject.
• Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.

Essential skills

• Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
• Able to work to Engineering Design Standards.

Desired skills

• FORAN.
• Windchill.
• Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.

Experience

• Experience in Design processes and procedures specifically within detail design.
• Working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages).
• Experience in Mechanical, Piping or HVAC.
• Relevant experience from other industries including, but not limited to, Oil & Gas, Process, Manufacturing, Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Civil and Automotive.
