Structural Integrity Engineer (Civil & Structural)

A career at KBR can change the world — and change your life. If you’re ready, let’s get started.

The KBR team of teams delivers future-forward science, technology and engineering solutions and mission-critical services that help governments and companies around the world accomplish their most important objectives, while also helping achieve their sustainability goals.

About the Role

You’ll join a specialist engineering team supporting critical infrastructure within a highly regulated, high-hazard environment. In this role, you’ll help ensure complex facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose through robust civil engineering design and assessment.

This position is ideal if you have strong experience in civil or structural engineering and want to apply your expertise in a technically challenging and safety-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll lead the delivery and assessment of civil and structural engineering design packages for complex infrastructure, ensuring all outputs meet stringent safety and regulatory requirements. You’ll support periodic safety reviews through site inspections, walkdowns, and technical documentation, while defining operational constraints and reviewing maintenance procedures. You’ll also assess asset integrity, material condition, and ageing mechanisms to support ongoing safe operation.

Working in a highly regulated environment, you’ll act as an intelligent customer, ensuring contractor deliverables meet contract and safety expectations, and you’ll promote a strong safety and security culture across all activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience assessing designs for reinforced concrete and steel structures subject to dynamic loads (e.g. seismic, blast, environmental loading).

  • Experience working with reinforced concrete and steelwork structures in complex environments (e.g. marine or heavy infrastructure).

  • Proven ability to produce technical justifications for engineering design changes in regulated or high-risk industries.

  • Broad engineering knowledge across the lifecycle: design, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
