Job Description:

Uniper seeks an individual experienced in structural integrity assessment and analysis within the Power Generation sector or similar. The role involves contributing to safety management of pressure systems and rotating equipment, including gas and steam turbines, with opportunities for creative problem solving across various engineering disciplines.

Your responsibilities

  1. Deliver structural integrity and analysis assessments.
  2. Support project development with team collaboration.
  3. Execute computer modeling, calculations, and produce high-standard reports in English.
  4. Drive projects proactively to completion.
  5. Communicate with clients and teams to gather assessment data.
  6. Ensure timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
  7. Assess defective components such as pressure vessels, turbines, and related parts.

Your profile

We consider candidates at various career stages, from early professionals to highly experienced specialists. The ideal candidate will have:

All Candidates

  • An engineering degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or similar fields; Physics degrees with relevant experience are also considered. Civil/Structural Engineering candidates are not suitable.
  • Strong communication skills for technical reports and presentations.
  • Experience with finite element software (preferably Abaqus or Ansys) or the ability to learn quickly.

Development Role Candidates

  • Early career, with experience in finite element and fracture mechanics assessments following standards like R6/R5, API 579, ASME FFS-1, BS 7910, or related software.
  • Experience with creep regime components is advantageous but not essential.
  • About one-third of relevant experience should involve pressure parts or turbines.

Experienced Candidates

  • Self-sufficient in delivering integrity assessments with limited supervision.
  • At least half of relevant experience in creep regime assessments.

Advanced Practitioner Candidates

  • Extensive hands-on experience in finite element and fracture mechanics assessments, including fitness-for-service evaluations, with minimal supervision.

Desirable qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Knowledge of Power Generation (coal/gas)
  • Experience with Remaining Life Assessments
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and reports
  • Coding skills (e.g., Fortran, Visual Basic)
