Our team in Aberdeen is looking for a Structural Integrity Engineer based at the AIBP office in Dyce, Aberdeen.

What will you be doing?

  1. Managing work scopes and preparing progress reports in accordance with the plan.
  2. Conducting detailed analysis to understand the behavior of complex details in as-designed, damaged, and post-repair conditions.
  3. Providing technical support to clients regarding performance envelope of assets, design basis, design code compliance, topside loading, or integrity of the asset fabric.
  4. Preparing and updating inspection strategies, component criticality assessments, and SOIRs.
  5. Reviewing inspection anomalies, mitigation, and risk assessments, including structural inspection reports.
  6. Engaging in conceptual and detailed engineering for development and repair schemes (e.g., repair clamps, composite material repairs, replacements).
  7. Providing technical input to failure mechanism identification.
  8. Contributing to risk assessments and risk-based inspection assessments.
  9. Supporting failure investigations and failure mechanism identification.

We think you should have:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline - Essential.
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards - Essential.
  • Proficiency with appropriate technical software - Essential.
  • Experience in material degradation and failure modes - Essential.
  • Experience in fitness-for-service assessment (Levels 1 & 2) - Essential.
  • Experience with applicable inspection methods - Essential.
  • Good communication skills at all levels within the organization and with external clients - Essential.
