Overview

Structural Engineer - Temporary Works — London WC2, £45k-£65k. A well established and reputable specialist Temporary Works Design Consultancy has an opening for a Structural Engineer to join their proficient and experienced team at their Central London office. The consultancy has around 70 staff and is the in-house design arm for a major contractor but also handles external works.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a wide variety of challenging works, including large buildings design projects often involving high profile and complex projects.
  • Demolition works, needling and propping, façade retentions, foundation designs, stability and alteration works, basements, geotechnical works and some permanent works.
  • Provide high quality design solutions in a contractor-led, often reactive environment.
Qualifications and eligibility
  • At least some years of experience working in a buildings environment as a structural engineer.
  • Full right to work in the UK and living within commuting distance.
  • Experience in temporary works design is preferable but not essential; some permanent works design and geotechnical works may be involved.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English.
  • Desire to achieve Chartered status is encouraged; relevant training and support will be provided if not already achieved.
