Join to apply for the Structural Engineer SFS role at Singh & Jones Ltd.

Singh & Jones are working with a well-established systems house client, renowned in the world of modular build. As tenders grow substantially and technical demands increase, my client is keen to strengthen their commercial team by recruiting an experienced Structural Engineer, with a focus on SFS/Light Gauge Steel Framing.

The position reports directly to the Head of Engineering. Key duties include:

  1. Analyzing configurations of light gauge steel structures
  2. Calculating pressures, stresses, and strains on components like beams and frames
  3. Advising on structural designs and variations
  4. Liaising with architects and main contractors
  5. Creating drawings, specifications, and models using AutoCAD and Tekla
  6. Ensuring newly erected buildings are structurally sound through contractor liaison
  7. Applying expertise on forces acting on structures
  8. Leading and mentoring junior staff

The ideal candidate will have a similar background with at least 5 years of postgraduate experience. A strong academic background with a BSc/MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering is essential, along with being chartered or progressing towards chartership with ICE or IStructE. Experience in Light Gauge Steel Framing and SFS is highly advantageous. As this is a senior role, mentoring and team-building skills are important.
