Job summary

ELB Recruit is representing a niche, well-established Structural Engineering consultancy based in Cheshire, who are looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' consultancy experience to develop their career within a specialist, client-focused practice delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across Cheshire and the wider North West.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Approximately 2+ years' consultancy experience.
• Working towards Chartered status with IStructE or ICE.
• Experience designing building structures across project types.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and UK Building Regulations.
• Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot, ETABS or similar.
• Experience BIM environments; Revit advantageous.
• Strong technical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing structural designs from concept through to detail.
• Produce calculations, reports, specifications and supporting docs.
• Design structures in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Work across domestic, residential, commercial, industrial and renewables.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and clients.
• Develop practical, buildable and cost-effective solutions.
• Support project delivery while meeting quality, time and budget goals.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Liaise with clients and site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections as required.
• Progress toward Chartership and professional development.
