A little more about your role...
Working on a variety of interesting projects across sectors such as Energy, Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Heritage, Commercial, Industrial, and Hospitality.
- Responsible for the efficient and compliant delivery of specific parts of the structural engineering design, working with and reporting to the WSP Senior Engineer.
- Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams within the project to meet client’s technical requirements.
- Contribute to client liaison regarding day-to-day structural engineering issues and have design responsibility for parts of the structural works.
- Assist the Senior Structural Engineer in administering the structural design aspects of the contract in a technical capacity.
- Provide day-to-day engineering design support and technical mentoring to Assistant and Graduate Engineers or equivalent junior technicians.
- Produce and review technical aspects of structural engineering design work, including specifications, calculations, and design packages in accordance with WSP standards.
- Apply knowledge of REVIT Structure to coordinate structural designs produced by WSP software packages into REVIT models.
- Develop drawing and sketching skills to illustrate concept appraisals, feasibility studies, and final design details.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...
- Proficiency in REVIT Structure for coordination and integration of structural designs.
- Progress towards Chartered Engineer status, with relevant training or mentorship.
- Experience with scheme solutions, material and construction viability assessments.
- Ability to solve structural problems using hand calculations and software, understanding their limitations.
- Skills in preparing specifications and design reports.
- Awareness of environmental, sustainability, and legislative considerations.
- Experience with construction techniques, site visits, and project management aspects.
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations and design concepts.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and organizing design reviews.
- Understanding of hazard and risk assessments in construction.
- Capability to manage resources and communicate scope changes effectively.
