Job summary

RIDGE SURVEYORS LIMITED in Plymouth is recruiting a Structural Engineer (or nearing Project Engineer level with relevant experience) to join our southwest team. This varied role will allow you to develop and evolve a good understanding of engineering design principles with opportunities to lead elements of design work and an active presence on projects to accelerate and enhance learning.

Qualifications

• BEng (Hons) in Civil or Structural Engineering with grade 2:1 or above (or equivalent MEng/MSc).
• Solid work experience in engineering and/or on-site work.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements including Eurocodes.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Revit is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Actively pursuing professional development towards a qualification.
• Hold a current UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake outline, scheme, and detailed engineering designs on projects.
• Carry out detailed design calculations and expand knowledge with design software.
• Prepare calculation packages, drawings, specs, and reports for projects to quality standards.
• Prepare reports and general correspondence related to projects.
• Undertake survey inspections and produce written findings with recommendations.
• Coordinate with design/construction teams internally and externally.
• Assist in preparing design programmes for production deliverables.
• Visit sites during construction to monitor progress and advise contractors.
• Ensure Ridge documentation management and QA procedures are followed.
• Assist other team members to meet project deadlines when required.
