American Society of Civil Engineers in Appley Bridge, Wigan, is seeking a Structural Engineer to diagnose building defects and deliver practical engineering solutions. The role offers hybrid working and a path to career progression within a growing consultancy.

You will inspect structures, diagnose defects, and produce detailed reports across residential, commercial, and historic buildings, contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.

Qualifications

• Several years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering.
• Proven experience carrying out structural surveys and producing reports.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and non-traditional construction methods.
• Excellent technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written report writing and communication skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural inspections of a wide range of buildings and structures.
• Diagnose structural defects and identify appropriate remedial solutions.
• Produce clear, detailed structural survey reports.
• Prepare specifications for remedial works.
• Liaise with senior management and provide regular project updates.
• Support the continued development and growth of the business through innovative ideas and technical input.
