Job summary

Bristol-based consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer to join a collaborative team and work on architecturally led projects. The role covers design, surveys and defect diagnosis across building structures in a varied portfolio.

We welcome candidates with 4+ years post-graduate experience and a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Chartered status is advantageous; flexible working and development toward Chartership are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills required.
• Experience liaising with clients and architects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and workloads.
• Mentoring junior engineers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Producing structural calculations, designs and drawings for building structures.
• Structural design using steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Work on architecturally led residential, commercial and other building projects.
• Liaise with architects, clients and construction professionals.
• Undertake structural surveys of domestic/residential properties.
• Investigate structural defects including cracking, settlement and subsidence.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations after site inspections.
• Manage own projects with support from the team.
• Support and mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
