Job Description

Warehaus is seeking a Structural Engineer, who is responsible for the technical aspects of structural projects and specializes in designing and analyzing various structures. They provide detailed calculations about the strength and stability of structures and collaborate with various departments to ensure a plan is in motion to safely build the structure. They are the main structural contact between Warehaus and the client, contractor, consultants and regulatory agencies and is authorized to speak for the firm when dealing with the interpretation of contract documents.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Performs designs, calculations, and technical writing
  • Produces construction drawings
  • Responsible for production document oversight
  • Develops schematics for structures in accordance with client specifications and safety standards
  • Performs structural analysis, design and documentation of building projects
  • Reviews shop drawings, submittals and responds to Requests for Information
  • Collects field information
  • Performs QA/QC
  • Follows Warehaus organization standards, including file management and drawing asset management
  • Maintains accurate and thorough design files for reference purposes
  • Manages design projects within allotted timelines and budgets
  • Coordinates with internal team and external subconsultants
  • Accepts daily changes in priorities and willingness to investigate design alternates
  • Stays up-to-date on current regulations to ensure that designs meet requirements
  • Works with contractors to resolve construction related issues or changes
  • Represents client, project and/or Warehaus at various meetings, as required
  • Explains technical aspects of design to external clients and agencies
  • Mentors and trains staff

Applicants Must Possess the Minimum Following Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural Engineering or related field
  • Licensed in Pennsylvania, or on the path to Licensure
  • 5+ years’ structural design/production experience
  • Proficient with Revit
  • Experience with Risa, RAM, Enercalc a plus
