Overview

A well-established multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its expanding team in Taunton. This opportunity offers involvement in a variety of projects across commercial, residential, retail, and industrial sectors, working within a supportive and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver structural design and analysis for a range of building types and materials.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Use relevant design and modelling software effectively.
  • Attend client meetings, site inspections, and internal project reviews.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
  • Work to agreed project budgets and timelines.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers (where appropriate).
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
  • Relevant post-graduate experience in a consultancy setting.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software.
  • Familiarity with UK design codes and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Chartered or actively working towards chartership (ICE or IStructE).
