Job summary

Waterman Aspen is seeking a Structural Engineer in the North West to join our Manchester team on a variety of client projects. You will engage in design, inspection, and delivery work across UK-based clients, supported by mentors and a strong benefits package.

This role offers career development, access to professional body memberships, and opportunities to lead smaller teams on bridges, culverts and highways assets within a flexible secondment framework.

Qualifications

• Current UK experience in the Public or sector UK based clients.
• Able to manage and maintain a forward programme of work.
• Undertake detailed design and structural assessments in accordance with Eurocodes and/or British Standards
• Produce, review and approve scheme deliverables including Principal Inspection (S), General Inspections, Site Inspections, repair and remedial work recommendations and inspection proformas
• A full UK driving license is essential
• Desirable: Experience coordinating a small team of engineers for inspections of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and highways assets.
• Desirable: Chartered, Incorporated or close to a Professional Qualification with the ICE or IStructE

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed design and structural assessments.
• Produce, review and approve scheme deliverables including inspections and remedial work recommendations.
• Coordinate and manage site inspections and reporting for structural assets.
• Lead and coordinate small team efforts on bridge and highway inspection projects.
• Support professional qualification goals through mentoring and training.

BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc or equivalent

Experience required…

Essential:
