Job summary

Emtech Recruitment are working with an established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in Bristol seeking a Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer. You will design and check structures, prepare calculations and liaise with clients while mentoring graduates and technicians.

You will advance projects through site visits, manage workloads and contribute to new business opportunities, with a hybrid working pattern and generous holiday provisions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong design experience across a range of projects.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and design codes.
• Experience with design software listed above.
• Strong report-writing and client-facing communication.

Structural Engineer - Bristol city centre

Salary: 40k - 50k plus bonus, hybrid working (3 days in the office), enhanced holiday & maternity and other benefits

Emtech Recruitment are working with an established and ambitious multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy who are looking for a Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer to join their Bristol team. You'll work on a diverse range of projects across commercial, retail, leisure, rail and residential, including high-rise and landmark developments. The role is working underneath an Associate Structural Engineer with excellent opportunity to learn and progress in your career.

The Role

• Design and check structures in steel, concrete, masonry and timber.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Liaise with clients, architects and other design professionals.
• Attend site visits, surveys and inspections.
• Manage projects, programmes and workloads.
• Supervise and mentor Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
• Contribute to client relationships and new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Strong structural design experience across a range of projects.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant design codes.
• Experience with software such as Tekla Structural Designer, S-Frame, TEDDS, SCIA or CADS.
• Strong communication and report-writing skills.
• Experience managing projects and working directly with clients.
• Ideally working towards or Chartered or Incorporated status.
